KATHMANDU: While Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has expressed anguish at the way UNMIN was not cooperating with the government, the visit UN diplomat B L Pascoe has said that he was optimist on the issue.

RISHI DHAMALA in NEW DELHI: The Indian side is more in favor of a new constitution coming into force in Nepal rather than any change of guard at the moment.

BELTAR: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal today claimed that his government has made a breakthrough in the discharge of the disqualified combatants from the cantonments.
He also said that his government was also in a position to wangle the constitution by ensuring consensus among the parties in the field.
"None of the governments managed to undertake leave alone achieve it. Moreover it is also talking with the parties to wangle the new constitution,"Prime Minister Nepal said.

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML which has long failed to come to a position on state restructuring and electoral system under the new constitution is planning to sort out the differences in the party today.
The party which has been meeting since quite long on the issue has so far failed to come to consensus position in the party with the same divided into two camps each backing its own political system and federalism model.
The party has come to the decision that the agenda of federating the nation under the new constitution should be entrusted to a commission in the wake of the continuing differences among the central members.

KATHMANDU: The government failed to put an end to the row surrounding the appointment of a new governor, with partisan stances in the cabinet ruling out consensus on any one candidate,

KATHMANDU: The timeline for the promulgation of the new constitution has been revised for the tenth time today. However there is no rescheduling of the day it will be promulgated.
The timeline has been revised following failure to complete the stipulated tasks before the final draft is written down. The constituent assembly has revised the timeline as stipulated by the concerned committee. The meeting will next resume
