The Maoists are ready to accept the leadership of Nepali Congress(NC) in the new government provided it guarantees the formation of stature and conclusion of the peace process. UCPN Maoist Standing Committee member Top Bahadur Raimajhi made such a claim while speaking at the face-to-face program of Reporters Club, Nepal on Monday.

The police retaliation fire claimed the lives of two leaders belonging to an armed underground outfit, Jantantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (Jwala group) in Rotahat on Sunday. Co-incharge of Rautahat district Surendra Mukhiya Bin and district secretary of the party Harish Chandra Sahini alias Umesh lost their lives when Police returned fire.

The domestic flights of Nepal Airlines Coporation have resumed its domestic flights after its employees ended their strike. They went on strike after the cooporation provided the route to Air Arabia. The strike was taken back after the corporation agreed to form a panel to discuss the issue.

Spokesperson to the caretaker government and minister for Communication and Information, Shankar Pokhrel stated that a Maoist led government was still not possible as "it is still a rebellious force". Speaking at a program of his party, CPN UML, in the valley today, Minister Pokhrel said that as one of the two sides of the peace process and with the peace process still in limbo, the Maoists lacked credentials to head the government.
