KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has gone on the overdrive himself with the objective of having the Maoists settle down to let the proceedings of the legislative constituent assembly function in an unhindered manner.
The bid from Prime Minister Nepal comes in the wake of the failure on the part of the departmental minister and Chairman of the Constituent Assembly failing to ensure smoother proceedings.
He started the day with a visit to the residence of the Maoist Deputy Leader in the constituent assembly Prakash with a proposal duly mooted by the party leadership. It is learned that he wanted to gauze as to what will convince the Maoist leadership in cooperating with him.
Meanwhile it is learned that since the issue of dismissing the army chief has already taken a course, Prime Minister Nepal has come up with a different proposal. He has among others explained the situation to Prakash and urged him to talk up the issue with top Maoist leadership.
Prime Minister has reportedly told the Maoist leaders that they cannot stick to the row thrown up by dismissal and reinstatement of the army ad infinitum in the legislative constituent assmbly in the changed context.
The meeting with Prakash came on a day when Prime Minister Nepal has also convened a meeting of the 22 parties in the constiuent assembly.
