Amid tight security, former hindu King Gyanendra Shah visited the Kumbha mela going on at Panauti of Kavre district. The Ex-monarch took a dip at the Triveni Kunda, the holy grove located at the confluence of three rivers. The holy Makar-Mela takes place every twelve years and is of high significance to Hindus.
He also visited the temples of Mukteshwor Mahadev, Indreshwor Mahadev, Basukinath and Brahyayani. During his short stay at the holy place he also took prasad of the mahayagya performed at the site.
The Former king also donated Two Lakhs to the local community for the construction of Indreshwor College and Maiti Old Age Home. The security around the place was beefed up for him.
