CPN-UML SPAT TO CONTINUE AFTER 2 PM AT PARTY HEADQUARTERS

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML which will continue its central committee meeting in a shortwhile from 2 pm is expected to resume spat among top leaders.

The party which is leading the coalition government with a section of the party against it has also been witnessing serious differnces of opinion on the future political system and how to federate the country.

The party which is long behind in suggesting its position to the Constitution Committee of the Constituent Assembly is divived between direct election to elect the prime minister and parliamentary democracy.

The section of the party is attracted towards the Congress party which is insisting that the nation must stick to parliamentary democracy while the faction headed by Khanal is for direct election to the post.

The latest central committee meeting has shown the top leaders reaching a ceasefire on the issue of backing the government, with Khanal in favor of replacing Nepal by himself as a head of a national government.
