KATHMANDU: Prachanda has today warned that his party will be revolting and grabbing the power if the government fails to ensure the promulgation of the new constitution by the given deadline.
He said this while speaking at a function organized by the women’s wing of the UCPN-Maoist on the occasion of the centenary of Women’s Day in the capital.
“We will be revolting if the parties do not come up at all or do not come up with the constitution people are expecting,” Prachanda said as a matter of warning to the ruling parties which have not agreed to the radical provisions in the new constitution.
He however reassured the rally that his party was putting in the best efforts to wangle the constitution. He came down heavily on the parties which are trying to pass the blame on to the UCPN-Maoist for the delay in the drafting of the new constitution.
Prachanda said that the government was trying to malign the atmosphere to draft the constitution. He also said that any failure to raise the issues currently would lead to negative consequences.
