KATHMANDU: While Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has expressed anguish at the way UNMIN was not cooperating with the government, the visit UN diplomat B L Pascoe has said that he was optimist on the issue.
Prime Minister expressed his reservation during the meeting with Pascoe who has arrived on three day visit to Nepal at a time when the spat between UNMIN and government is getting worst by the day.
Government has taken the issue of UNMIN declining to share dossiers on Maoist fighters with the government citing the confidentiality clause in the peace process.
Prime Minister lamented that the UNMIN was sitting on old record that there was fresh need to take stock of the Maoist combatants in the cantonment which would also cut cost.
