KATHMANDU: Ruling party leaders have flayed the controvery thrown up by the UNMIN denial to hand over dossiers on Maoist combatants as unfortunate.They flayed the UNMIN while speaking at an interaction session at the Reporters Club.
"UNMIN has failed to cooperate with the government in the task of taking the peace process to its logical conclusion," Congress leader Ram Sharan Mahat said. He also flayed the role the way it has come.
He expressed surprise at the government the government is being kept in the dark although it has to pay for their upkeep. He also lamented the way Prachanda was training the Maoist combatants in the cantonments.
CPN-UML leader Bhim Prasad Acharya was of the view that the task of monitoring the cantonments must be given to the parties than UNMIN.
"How can they claim secrecy to something that has to be known by the government."
Meanwhile Indra Jit Rai was of the view that the conflict could come to an if the parties go by the constitution and the peace deal reached. He was of the view that the parties would do well to first talk up integration before attending other agenda.
