
At a time when United CPN Maoist are putting all their efforts together for forming a majority government in the leadership of its chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal, party's vice president Baburam Bhattarai has declared that a majority government is not capable of concluding the peace process and perform task related to the constitution drafting. He further claimed that due to that reason they were carrying out efforts for forming a national consensus government.
Bhattarai is reported to have said this to outgoing British Ambassador Andrew Hall today. He further informed the ambassador of the ongoing negotiations between the parties for forming a majority government. According to Bhattarai's assistant Bishwa Deep Pandey, Bhattarai had said the envoy of the Maoist intentions of finding a new solution for the situation if the August 2 election fails to elect a prime minister.
The meeting which took place at Bhattarai's residence in Shantinagar, Hall further expressed his concerns over the ongoing peace process, constitution drafting and the present political deadlock. The meeting was farewell meet from Hall's side to the Maoist leader.
