Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has been assured of increasing grants to Nepal by the visiting Asian Development Bank (ADB) chief Haruhiko Kuroda in meeting at the Prime Minister's office in Singhdurbar today.
Stressing the importance of concluding the peace process, Kuroda said that the world community was observing the peace process at close quarters and increasing ADB's investment in Nepal depended on its outcome.
According to Prime Ministers Foreign Affairs advisor Rajan Bhattarai the meeting also discussed the ongoing contribution of ADB in Nepalese development projects and the further cooperation from the Bank. ADB is presently the biggest donor agency of Nepal.
The main agendas of the topic, according to sources will the present contribution of ADB and other areas for extending ADB cooperation. ADB is currently the biggest donor of Nepal. It has been contributing in education, town development, sanitation, drinking water and in the development of the Municipal corporation.
According to the officials at the Finance ministry, Kuruda has assured of investing in the sector of Hydroelectricity, Solar Energy, and rural roads. After his arrival on Monday, Kuruda has conducted meetings with senior government officials and visited project sites funded by ADB. According to the ADB Resident Mission in Nepal, Kuruda is scheduled to address a press meet later today.
