The members of the civil society has urged the poltiical parties of delivering the nation with a government on August 2. Claiming that a prolonged period without any government will bring grave consequences for the nation the representatives of the society urged the political parties for taking stands in favor of nation rather than their political parties.
In an interaction program organized by Reporters Club, Nepal the representatives of the civil society urged the political parties for paving way for the civil society if they fail to form a government. Speaking at the interaction, President of Democratic Lawyer's Association Upendrakesari Neupane claimed the strategy of the political parties of remaining neutral in the prime ministerial election as "undemocratic". He further claimed that if the political parties continue with this strategy it "will not only make political parties and lawmakers unsuccessful but also the whole of nation will be unsuccessful". He further declared that in case the political parties try to make the nation unsuccesful , the civil society will take the responsibility in its hand and provide access to the nation.
Former vice president of Nepal Bar Association Sher Bahadur KC urged the political parties for delivering the nation with a government on August and in case of their failure to do so he suggested the CA members for resigning from their post. He further argued that "a parliament which cannot give a government to the nation doesn’t have any right to exist". He also urged the CA chairman for using special powers given to him by clause 152 of the interim constitution for drafting the constitution.
Reporters Club president Rishi Dhamala urged the political parties for providing a prime minister to the nation on August 2. He claimed that the recent practices of the political parties have defamed democratic norms and values and warned of another revolution against the political parties if they don’t take necessary measures to correct themselves in time.
