Nepal Telecom which has been recently facing charges of providing poor standards of service is all set to provide a world class service leaving behind other Asian countries. According to its new strategy the corporation will be replacing old telecom equipments with latest equipments based on the latest technology. It will be expanding its service to each corner of the nation. Along with this renovation the coroporation will be providing the NGN (Next Generation Networking) technology enabling viewing of pay channels on mobile set as well as on television sets through landline phones and enabling video calls on landline and mobile phones.
Presently the telecom is providing CDMA based phone PSTN, GSM, Mobile GSM, 3G, services along with ADSL internet services to its consumers. For implementing its new strategy the corporation has decided to take the help of its old partner and world's leading telecommunication equipments provider GTZ. Though GTZ has been accused of providing low standard equipment it has recently got clean chit from the accusation. The officials at the telecom has accused the politicians of accusing GTZ of poor standard for political and personal reasons. GTZ is also the provider of tele equipments to Nepal Telecom's rival Ncell.
