KATHMANDU
Indian ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood conferred with CPN UML chief Jhalnath Khanal at the latter's residence in Dallu on Sunday morning. The duo is reported to have discussed current political affairs, Prime Ministerial elections and the peace process by UML. During the meeting they are said to have also discussed on the issue of extending the UNMIN term and the drafting of the new constitution.
While UML is facing widespread criticism at the national and international level, Sood's meeting with the chief is seen with much importance. And the meeting is of more importance as both parties stand opposite on extending the UNMIN tenure. Khanal has expressed his consent on extending UNMIN tenure without curtailing any of its responsibilities whereas the Indian interest is bidding farewell to UNMIN from Nepal.
