In the latest development on the Prime Ministerial run off, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal president Upendra Yadav has stated that the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) would not support United CPN Maoist in the sixth round of Prime Ministerial election on September 5 until it expressed commitment for fulfilling the prerequisite forwarded by UDMF in its minimum consensus proposal.
Yadav said so to Nepali Congress (NC) Parliamentary Party (PP) leader and Prime Ministerial candidate Ram Chandra Poudel during a meeting between the duo at the NC PP office at Singhadurbar on Friday. Speaking to Reportersnepal.com, Poudel added that Yadav had claimed that " UDMF would not support the Maoist PM candidate if it failed to express its commitment for implementing the demands specially related to the Peace process and Constitution drafting incorporated within our minimum consensus plan".
On Poudel's request to Yadav for supporting his candidacy Yadav declined it arguing that their support would not be sufficient for him until UML remained neutral. He further clarified that if Front supported NC in the present condition it would increase polarization among political parties.
