The UCPN (Maoist) Central Committee meeting scheduled for Friday has been put off once again. The CC meeting has been deferred until Saturday after differences surfaced among the senior party leaders on the issue of elections for the post of prime minister.

A brief meeting of the office bearers of the party  held at Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's residence in Nayabazar this morning suggested the party leadership to  withdraw candidacy from the election and to initiate  process for forwarding a consensus candidate. The meet was attended  Vice Chairmen Mohan Baidya, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, among other senior leaders.
